Opening «The Circle»
Today «The Circle» opened at Zurich Airport. As one of the largest and most expensive building construction projects in Switzerland, The Circle offers 180'000 square meters of floor space (four times as much as the Prime Tower) on a 30'000 square meter site. The construction corresponds roughly to a medium-sized city center. According to the project managers, the aim is to create a cultural and economic hub with excellent transport connections. The two clients, Flughafen Zürich AG and Swiss Life AG, have each spent half a billion Swiss francs. The Circle consists of a congress center, conference hall, two hotels, stores, office space and an outpatient clinic for 1000 patients.
Mountair AG was allowed to deliver about 60 ZUL-ABL-Monoblocs. Devices with the 3 different heat recovery systems were used: KVS-WRG (circulation compound system), plate exchanger-WRG and rotation exchanger-WRG. In addition, some units with active air humidification and also for air dehumidification. Heating and cooling is done via energy piles with the earth as storage. A photovoltaic system on the roof of the building serves as a natural energy source. Through recovery, the total energy and water requirements are greatly reduced. We are proud that we were able to accompany the development of the ventilation systems for the engineering office Amstein + Walthert during the entire planning phase of the last years.
